This delicious rosé hails from the cooler, picturesque Archèche sub-region of the Rhône Valley. The producer, Vignerons Ardéchois, is a large cooperative known for a commitment to organic viticulture and highlighting the freshness of wines grown in their specific region. 30+ year old vines of grenache and caladoc are planted on pebbled, iron-rich hillsides nestled between Bourg Saint Andéol and Saint Remèze, near the 4000 year old Monument of Giant Dolmens. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is left on its lees for 5-6 months, and bottled unfined and lightly filtered. This cuvée packs a generous nose of ripe peach, red apple, strawberry, and rose petal, with soft berry and ripe red plum flavors on a gently lingering finish. Certified organic.
