Villa Medoro is owned and operated by the Della Loggia-Morricone family, first acquired in 1966. It is located in the small village of Medoro, located near the city of Atri in Abruzzo, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. At the young age of 22, Federica Morricone took control of the estate and changed the focus to produce more higher-end wines with lower yields in the vineyard rather than bulk table wine. 100% montepulciano from limestone-clay soils, this dry red sees no oak and shows bright red and black cherry with a hint of spice. An appealing rustic quaff with just enough tannin to match well with hard cheeses or a simple mushroom bolognese.
