Weingut Schödl is run by three siblings, Mathias, Viktoria, and Leonhard, who have worked together to convert their family winery to organic viticulture. Their vineyards are located in Austria’s Weinviertel, near the town of Loidesthal. They farm with a commitment to biodiversity, encouraging a healthy population of wild flora to provide homes for beneficial insects, and only fertilize with natural compost. This juicy, light red is made from 100% St. Laurent, which boasts robust black and blue fruits while remaining lithe on the palate, with a prickle on the tongue from a slight, natural carbonation.
