This week, we are super excited to welcome into the shop the ever so lovely Alexandre Apfel of Golden Rule Mead!

"Brew unto others"

Golden Rule Mead was founded on the principles of human creative expression and respect - for home and all the living beings in it - in the hopes of inspiring people to come together to share that mutual respect and inspiration. Located in Middlebury, Vermont, each mead starts with 100% Vermont-origin raw honey, and is flavored with fruits, spices, herbs, and vegetables from farms around the state.

We were so impressed when Alexandre first dropped by with some samples, that we immediately stocked some on the shelves, and jumped at his gracious offer to drive down from Vermont and pour for our community. What a treat!

Oh my goodness, we almost forgot! We have an extra special addition to our line-up!

After receiving incredibly gracious encouragement and support from our our dear friends at Denning's Point Distillery (thanks, Dan!), we indulged our banana-cuckoo-crazy idea of combining their Maid of the Meadow Vodka with oloroso sherry, yuzu sake, orange bitters, and a float of Golden Rule's Wild Light. So in addition, to Golden Rule's meads, we will also be serving you the 'Honey, I'm Home,' a cocktail inspired by the fruits and labors of our friends and neighbors.
