Anna and Martin Arndorfer work with joy and creativity in their vineyards and winery, playing with blends and techniques in experimental ways that result in a dizzying array of flavors and textures. They farm organically and trust the natural fermentation processes to stabilize their wines without the need for fining or other manipulations. This wine—made entirely of the obscure Austrian variety called neuberger—comes from three vineyards, with vines from 35 to 60 years old. 30% of the harvest completed fermentation in contact with the skins. The remainder macerated for only two hours before being pressed into used French oak barrels, where it then aged for 11 months on the lees. The name of the cuvée refers to the street address of the property where Martin’s grandfather first planted neuberger vines; that deep connection between the family, the place, and the grapes comes through in the complex freshness of this wine. Clean-cut and bright, it offers lemon-accented flavors of golden apples and mandarin oranges with a long, mouthwatering texture, and it has tangy kick to keep things interesting. Certified organic, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
