In 1978, Pierluigi Lugano founded Enoteca Bisson after becoming enamored with the wines hailing from the steep slopes of the Ligurian coastline. A passionate preservationist, Lugano champions indigenous and increasingly rare grape varieties, producing wines of singularity oftentimes in stainless steel to harness the essence of each grape type in an unadulterated fashion. Case in point: this 2024 rosato of ciliegiolo, a traditional red grape varietal rarely given any screen time. Almost electric-neon in hue, it’s light, fruity, flirty, and fun. Dare we say chuggable? Pops of red cherry, white cranberry, and wild mulberry enthusiastically enter the chat, amplifying the pop-princess persona bursting out of the glass. If Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club offered a happy hour by the glass option, we imagine it would be this. Serve alongside Sex and the City reruns and salumi and olives. Sustainably grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
