December 22, 2023 | biodynamic sips for the Solstice

Happy Solstice!

As of 10:27pm last night, it's officially--astronomically--winter.

& other than inspiring us to bundle up a bit more, the change in seasons has us thinking a lot about the sun, the moon and biodynamic viticulture.

Rooted in the work of Austrian philosopher-scientist Rudolf Steiner, biodynamic approaches agriculture (& viticulture) as a holistic, regenerative process aligned with the rhythms of nature. It takes into account the cycle of the sun and the lunar calendar, values biodiversity first and foremost, and eschews chemical treatments.

And, if you ask us, produces some awfully delicious wine.

As such, today (Friday, 12.22!)'s tasting is all about biodynamic bottlings.

A staff favorite crémant from the Jura, a beautiful (holiday appropriate) Vouvray, and a big & bold Loire cab franc will all be open.
