The Melting Pot Tasting

Well, the workweek has finally come to a close and we sincerely hope you have been staying cool and hydrated. And given that wine is mostly water, we are happy to offer you some options to quench your thirst during this heatwave.

Firstly, we'll be pouring a naturally sparkling wine from one of our favorite winemaking couples, Andrew and Jennifer of Eminence Road Winery in the Finger Lakes. Aromella may sound like the name of a mythical land full of fairies and whimsy but it's actually a French-American hybrid grape developed by Cornell in 2013! The juice is quite fantastical, in our humble opinion. Next up, we have from our dear friend Todd of Wild Arc the recently released 'Luca,' a flinty and grungy skin-contact traminette hailing from the Finger Lakes. In a quick pivot to the west coast, we'll invite Iruai into the chat with their 'Psychic Terroir,' one of the best chillable co-ferments we've had in a hot second. Who knew that blending grenache with muscat, cab franc, syrah, gamay, and gewürztraminer would result in such chuggable Koolaid with a tannic snap? Finally, we'll pour what may just be the most concentrated and extracted pinot noir we've come across to date. 14.5% abv?! Okay, Spring Street Winery, we see you. Napa lovers rejoice.
