Boyd & Blair Potato Vodka

Boyd & Blair is a brand of Pennsylvania Pure Distilleries, making craft spirits that are made from local ingredients located in Pittsburgh. Master Distiller Barry Young uses his “unique Instinct Palate Distillation method”, which means that all of his distilling decisions are completely based off taste and his instinct alone. There is no automation whatsoever in the entire process. This vodka is made with 100% Pennsylvania grown and harvested potatoes. It’s more expensive and difficult to create vodka from potatoes as opposed to grain or corn, but they say the resulting spirit boasts a natural sweetness and creamier mouthfeel that the others simply don’t have. While many distillers often cut only the heads and blend the tails back into the heart and distill several more times, Barry only keeps the hearts. This cuts yield and makes it a small-batch spirit, all in the name of quality and taste.
