Branchwater Farms 'Wheat' Whiskey

Branchwater Farms is located in Dutchess County, just outside of the town of Red Hook, NY. Owners, farmers and distillers Kevin Pike and Robin Touchet are passionately dedicated to regenerative farming, believing that rebuilding the health of the soil is not only the highest expression of land stewardship, but ultimately produces the best crops, and by extension, the best spirits. They double-distill their wheat whiskey from their own organic and regenerative farm-grown wheat in collaboration with Austrian master distiller Hans Reisetbauer using custom-made copper pot stills. After distillation to over 160 proof, it is aged in new oak and finished in used pinot noir and chardonnay barrels for 18 months. Just before bottling, it is cut to 45% abv (90 proof) with water from the farm’s well. Only about 300 bottles of this very limited release were produced.
