Common Wealth Crush is a groundbreaking winery operation established in 2022 in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. (Think custom crush facility meets small biz incubator meets thinktank!) Rest assured however: this ‘Eau de Vin’ (aka “wine water”) spritz is a lot easier to drink than to define! A blend of white grapes consisting of 20% Cayuga white, 18% petit manseng, and 12% sauvignon blanc were sourced from vineyards around Winchester, Batesville, and Albemarle County, and the juice was then diluted with 50% water before fermentation began. Fermentation itself was spontaneous, cold, and long, and the wine then rested in tank before being filtered and canned. This low alcohol, carbonated can is dry and beachy, featuring easy-going layers of light lemon and citrus alongside a toasty, Cheerio-esque texture. It finishes light, clean, and utterly refreshing. Portable and perfectly thirst quenching! Low-intervention/natural wine.
