This 100% Chardonnay hails from a small plot in Southern Beaujolais, specifically Pierres Dorées, characterized by its limestone and clay soils. The winemaker, Raphael Saint Cyr, took over in 2008, tapping into four generations of his family's winemaking expertise. Raphael worked to convert the entire estate to be certified organic, making it the largest in all of Beaujolais. Grapes are hand harvested from vines that are 25-30 years old, directly pressed, and fermented with natural yeast. Full malolactic conversion is allowed before the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for four months. Round, lush, and nutty with a golden raisin quality. Certified organic, biodynamically grown, low-intervention/natural wine.
