Vineyard/Cellar Practices | Organically Grown, Biodynamically Grown |
It is famously difficult to grow without chemicals in New York: the wet climate and relatively short growing season mean that growing organically and biodynamically requires an extra commitment on the part of farmers. The Macari family has been undaunted in their commitment to biodynamic farming. In fact, they have been doing it that way ever since first planting their North Fork vineyards in 1995. Three generations of Macari family members contribute to the growing, making, and marketing of their wines, including this estate chardonnay. Nothing heavy or oaky here: this electric, refreshing chardonnay ferments and ages on the lees in stainless steel tanks. Crisp pear and apple meet fresh and preserved lemon, with a mineral finish. Organically grown, biodynamically grown.
