The winery has existed since 1721, and is now operated by the 11th generation of the Bauer family. Norbert Bauer took over from his parents in 1992 and runs it with his vintner wife Gisela. Their organically farmed vineyards in the Weinviertel are situated along a long-gone ancient coastline of the Aeolian Sea. This cool climate site is at the same longitude as Champagne, perfect for growing high-acid grüner veltliner. A great value and true fan favorite, this is fresh and zippy, with gentle citrus and green apple on the palate, an easy-drinking house white.
