Most of the time we’re pouring a Croatian wine, it hails from the Dalmatian coast, however this time we’re heading all the way up to the mountains of Plešivica, where winemaker Kreso Petrekovic sources fruit from “the mystical hills, where the forest meets the daylight.” Hailing from 100-year-old organically cultivated vines, ‘Muž’ is composed of bläuer kolner, blaufränkisch, and pinot gris that is hand harvested and spontaneously co-fermented in neutral oak. The wine then ages in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel and is bottled unfined, unfiltered, with zero sulfur additions. Juicy! Bright! Tangy! Tart! Chillable and chuggable, we won’t judge if a straw finds its way into the neck of this bottle. Organically grown, low-intervention/natural wine, vegan.
