Anyone who says “soil is the first ingredient” in wine immediately captures our attention. Such respect and reverence for the land is paramount to the identity of the Simon Brazzan estate, whose ethos of care extends further beyond the vines and into the cellar, where intentionality and craftsmanship inform each bottling. Fourth generation winemaker Daniele Drius was responsible for the decision to move away from bulk production in the 1980s, shifting to organic and biodynamic principles in the vineyard and low-intervention methods in the cellar. This malvasia offers elegance without pretense, a quietly confident wallflower who need not prove her worth.
