Approximately 37 kilometers south of Adelaide - the capital of South Australia - lies McLaren Vale, one of the earliest regions in South Australia to be planted to vines. Consistently considered one of the most esteemed wine growing regions in Australia, you can expect a Mediterranean climate, with the ocean moderating winter temperatures and sea breezes offering sweet relief on summer afternoons. Here you will find Springseed Wine Co. led by Joch Bosworth and his partner Louise Hemsley-Smith. Bosworth took over from his parents who established the vineyards back in the ‘70s and converted to organic viticulture in 1995. The vines are fully certified ‘A’ grade organic by Australian Certified Organic, a process that takes four years and involves yearly audits and random sampling of produce. One sniff of this cabernet sauvignon, and we’re immediately transported to the garden center at Adams Fairacre Farms - fresh potting soil, bright eucalyptus, and the pure essence of sunshine burst from the glass. Juicy and energized, it’s the perfect summer cab, destined to be the new favorite at the neighborhood BBQ.
