Patrick and Karoline Uccelli grow grapes on their farm in the foothills of the Dolomites, though they also keep sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, and a cow. Biodynamic since 2009, the farm thrives with biodiversity and healthy soils. To create this fresh, chillable red wine, Patrick fermented pinot nero (pinot noir) with indigenous yeasts on the skins for just a few days before completing the fermentation and aging in large oak vessels. Nicely alive on the palate, this unfussy but complex wine combines fresh tart cherry with cherry cordial, strawberry, and a hint of almond on the finish. Organically grown, certified biodynamic, low-intervention/natural wine.
