Tombacco 'Tai' Veneto IGT 2023

Cristian Tombacco is a third generation winemaker in Biferno, a tiny appellation nestled in the south of Italy between Abruzzo to the north and Campania to the south. This medium-bodied white is 75% Tai (aka tocai fruiliano) and 15% traminer, and is a delightfully expressive snapshot of Fruilian terroir, where the rolling hills and sandy coasts yield wines of distinctive aromatic character and rich minerality. Fresh and fruitful, generous floral notes of white lily, iris, and white violet mingle with sumptuous yellow pear on a fuller bodied frame supported by refreshing minerality and accented with a savory hint of bitter almond on the persistent finish.
