Happy Friday, friends!

This weekend, some of the team is heading down to Brooklyn to attend ABV Ferments, a community focused summit showcasing "the possibilities of terroir and range of styles of wine made from Anything But Vinifera (think cider, hybrid grapes, mead, rice wine, and so much more...)." 

It's one of our favorite events of the year, as it offers expansive conversation that bridges cultural histories and crafted libations to our current climate and community needs. Fostering a sense of curiosity and engagement, producers from all over North America come together to pour and promote their offerings in a space of access and opportunity.

You may already be familiar with some of the folks who will be attending, as some of their bottles and cans can be found populating our shelves. So many of our friends will be there! Just to name just a few: Current Cassis, Accordion Wines, Rose Hill Farms, Wild Arc, Golden Rule Mead, and Left Bank will all be in attendance. The team cannot wait to dance around their tables and taste through their delightful drinks. We will make sure to take diligent notes.  

So tonight, we'll be opening up a few bottles (and a cutie can) of our favorite ABV beverages. We'll have Left Bank 'Pick Em' coferment of apples, grapes, and wildflower honey to start. Is it wine? Is it cider? Is it mead? YES! See? We're breaking boundaries already. Next, we'll have Eminence Road Farm Winery 'Basket' Rosé Blend 2023. This rosé of hybrid grapes (cayuga and noiret) is a delightfully silky expression of fruit from the Finger Lakes that bursts with strawberry and flinty minerality. 'Family Meal' by Common Wealth Crush in Virginia is one of our all time favorite chillable reds that blends vinifera and non-vinifera grapes into a seamless cuvée that highlights the current renaissance occurring in Virginia wine country. Lastly, we'll pop open a can of RAS 'Wild' sparkling blueberry wine made from wild Maine blueberries, some of which are purchased from the Passamaquoddy Wild Blueberry Company that is owned, managed, and operated by members of the Passamaquoddy tribe.
